Mar 17 Mar 17 DIY Lolly Stick Mini Crate Rachel - Doodle and Stitch Home, Weddings Make a rustic wooden crate out of lolly/popsicle sticks to keep small flowers in or to use as a desk tidy. These also make great mini gift baskets to give as DIY presents. You could even make lots and use them as wedding favours! To make this mini crate you will need: Wooden Popsicle SticksGlue GunScissors Step 1Get 26 wooden lolly sticks. Take 10 sticks and cut the rounded ends off with scissors, so the stick is approximately 8cm (long sticks). Then take 8 sticks and do the same, however cut these slightly shorter, approx. 6cm (medium sticks). Cut another 8 popsicle sticks so that they are about 5cm long (short sticks). Step 2Take one of the short lolly sticks and put a bit of glue on one end with the glue gun. Then stick the end of one of the long sticks to it. Repeat this with two more long sticks down the length of the short stick. Then glue another short lolly stick in place at the other end.Repeat this with three medium lolly sticks and two short sticks either end. Then repeat again with four long popsicle sticks with two medium sticks at the ends. This will create the four sides and bottom of your crate. Step 3Use the glue gun to stick the two short sides to the edges of the bottom piece. Then glue the two long sides in place. Put a small amount of glue on the corners as well to hold them all in place. Your mini crate is complete!
