Jan 25 Jan 25 Clay Mountain Photo Holder Rachel - Doodle and Stitch Gifts, Clay Learn how to make a Scandinavian style mountain photo holder out of clay with this tutorial. They make a great addition to the home decor and could also be used as DIY place card holders for weddings and parties! To make this mountain photo holder you will need: Air dry clayAcrylic paintWire cuttersWire Paint brushKnife Step 1Using the knife, cut two triangular shapes out of the clay to form the mountains. They shouldn't be too thick, however they need to be thick enough that they will stand up once they're dry. Step 2Using the pliers, twist the end of the wire twice round a pen (you could also use your finger or something else that is round and a similar size). Leave a small bit of the wire at the end to wrap around the longer piece of wire to hold it in shape. Make sure the two circle are pushed tightly together as they will be holding the photo/name card. Step 3Push the wire into the top of the clay mountain that you made in step 1. Leave them to dry over night. Step 4Once the photo holders are dry, you can start painting them. Paint the top to the mountain white, and mix up a nice shade of grey for the bottom of the mountain. I also experimented with adding some dots and dashes to the lower part of the mountain! Now they are ready to be used as photo stands, name card holders or just to hold a little picture in the home!Subscribe to my newsletter to receive fun craft ideas weekly! Please note: this blog post contains affiliate links, however all opinions are my own and I only link to products that I personally use and recommend.
