Easy DIY Cake Stand
This lovely cake stand is really quick and easy to make, and you will only need a few materials! This DIY cake stand is perfect for parties, weddings and get togethers, and also looks great displayed on the coffee table. Use it to display your cakes, biscuits, sweets and more!
To make this cake stand you will need:
Step 1
Choose the colour of porcelain paint that you would like your cake stand to be, then paint both the plate and the egg cup. Make sure the whole of the plate is covered in paint, including the bottom of it, as this will be on show once it has been lifted onto the stand. Cover in another coat of paint if necessary and leave it to dry.
Step 2
Once the paint has completely dried, turn the plate upside down and place it on the table. Then use the glue gun to put a layer of glue around the top of the egg cup, then turn it upside down and place it onto the centre of the bottom of the plate. Hold the egg cup in place until the glue has dried, then turn it back up the right way and you have your finished handmade cake stand.
It is best to use cakes and sweets etc that are wrapped with this cake stand instead of putting the food straight onto the painted surface. If you don't want to use wrapped food, try coating the cake stand in a food safe varnish.
