Kids can make their own funky bug pencil toppers with this quick and simple craft idea. Follow the steps to craft a ladybird pencil topper out of foam and a pipe cleaner. You could even make more bug friends - a bumble bee, a caterpillar and lots more!

You will need:

Pipe cleaner (red)
Foam sheets (red, black)
Glue
Scissors
Pencil
Googly eyes

Step 1 Wrap the end of a pipe cleaner round the pencil to create a spiral. This will need to be quite tight as it is what will hold your craft to the top of the pencil. Leave about an inch at the end of the pipe cleaner straight - this will be to stick the ladybird to it.

Cover the back of the body in glue, place the end of the pipe cleaner onto the glue, then cover the other side with the black circle that you cut out in step 2.
